How to Arrive

Reaching Tampere and the Conference Venue

Tampere is located about 180 km North of Helsinki. It can easily be reached by air, bus or train. There are direct flight connections to Tampere from Stockholm and Copenhagen through SAS (or its local sister company Blue1, from Helsinki via Finnair, and from several other destinations via Ryanair (e.g. Frankfurt Hahn, Bremen, London Stansted, and Milano). From Tampere airport (Pirkkala) you can take a taxi or the airport bus Ryanair has their own bus service. From Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki there are many connections to different places in Europe and beyond, see the sites of SAS and Finnair or other air carriers servicing those cities. If you decide to fly to Helsinki instead, you can reach Tampere via bus or a combination of (airport-) bus and train. Direct busses leave Helsinki-Vantaa airport for Tampere about once an hour (timetable). The travel time is 2.5 - 3 hours and it costs approx. 21 EUR one-way. You can also take the bus to Helsinki city centre, the Finnair bus stops at the railway station. The Finnish railways serve Tampere frequently, it takes about 1,5-2 hours (+ 45 minutes for the Finnair bus).

From the Tampere railway station or city centre you can reach the Conference venue (Tampere Spa, Lapinniemi) by bus number 2. In case you arrive at the bus station you will need to first walk to the main street in Tampere (Hmeenkatu) in order to catch the number 2 bus. The Spa can also be reached by foot (approx. 2 km). Taxis are naturally also a convenient means of transport and may be the easiest way to get around in Tampere. To order a taxi in Tampere, call +3581004131 (locally 01004131).

A map of Tampere can be found here. If you enter the address (Lapinniemenranta 12), it will display the location of the venue.
