Call for Workshop Papers

Stroke and technologies: advances and challenges

Trento, Italy

Co-located to the Pervasive Health 2019 Conference

Scope

This full-day workshop aims to initiate a discussion on emerging technologies for post-stroke activity monitoring and rehabilitation. We are interested in the design and presentation of sensing and stimulation devices and approaches, as well as in the user experience with such technologies. We would like to invite researchers working in the fields of human-computer interaction, computer science, cognitive sciences, psychology, psychophysics, and mechatronics to submit a position paper and/or a demo presentation dealing with topics such activity sensing, bio sensing, bio feedback, new interaction techniques, robotics, and specific evaluation methods targeted to stroke survivors, and their formal and informal carers.

Topics

Workshop topics include but are not limited to the following aspects:

  • Sensing technologies for stroke survivors’ activity monitoring
  • Biosensing for the same application
  • Emotion-sensing
  • Technologies for stimulation and feedback
  • Rehabilitation technologies
  • New interaction techniques, on both hardware and software
  • Implementable models for stroke risk calculation
  • Implementable models for health behaviour change
  • Indoors and outdoors navigation support for stroke survivors
  • Design methods and guidelines for such applications
  • Specific evaluation methods and criteria
  • Workload and user performance
  • User experience and satisfaction
  • Business perspectives for technologies for stroke survivors

Publication

Workshop papers will be published together with PervasiveHealth Proceedings.

(CONFIRMED) All accepted and presented papers will be published by ACM and made available through ACM Digital Library.

Proceedings are indexed in leading indexing services, including Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).

All accepted authors are eligible to submit an extended version in a fast track of EAI Scopus indexed journal:
