Call for Medical Perspective Abstracts
The 7th International Conference on Pervasive Computing Technologies for Healthcare, Pervasive Health 2013 (https://pervasivehealth.org/), invites proposals from healthcare professionals, doctors and nurses, providing relevant medical perspectives on the application of pervasive technologies in the field of healthcare.
Contributions
The main purpose of Medical Perspective Abstracts is to provide the view of practitioners to the pervasive health community in order to have a more clear understanding about the real needs of healthcare operators and in this way shorten the gap between technologists and the every-day needs of practitioners. Perspectives could include qualitative accounts of successful or unsuccessful applications of pervasive health technologies as experienced in the clinic that may facilitate a dialog between technical and medical researchers at Pervasive Health 2013. Medical Perspective Abstracts can also be used to report on important quantitative or qualitative results from ongoing or completed clinical trials involving pervasive health technology as part of the study setup. We seek medical perspectives of pervasive technologies across the full environment of healthcare, starting from clinical applications to wearable, ambient and home based health monitoring technologies up to assistive devices and educational or motivational aids. A successful Medical Perspective Abstract communicates experiences with using pervasive technology or suggestions for requirements of new technology following the typical medical abstract format in a short and concise style.
Submission and Review Process
Submissions should be a maximum of one page in length. Your abstract should be submitted by March 29th, 2013 (5:00pm PST) directly to the Medical Perspective Abstracts Chair Stefan Wagner ([email protected]) with the subject “Medical Perspective Abstract Submission”, according to the IEEE Pervasive Health 2013 Proceedings format. Confidentiality of submissions is maintained during the review process. All rejected submissions will be kept confidential in perpetuity. All submitted materials for accepted submissions will be kept confidential until the start of the conference. Medical Perspective Abstracts must include the following sections: background, objectives, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. Proposals will be judged on their relevance for the Pervasive Health community. Should your abstract be accepted, you will be required to present a poster at the conference, co-hosted with the Poster and Demonstration and Exhibition sessions. Publication
